A cozy indoor space with large windows, candles, and lined-up singing bowls, with a colorful patchwork quilt on the floor and various cushions and decor, creating an inviting, serene atmosphere ideal for meditation or yoga.

A practice, not a place.

Aloka is a sound ceremony practice founded by Graham Slick in Portland, Oregon. It isn’t a building. It’s a way of holding a room: bowls in a ring, low light, twelve mats at most, and a sequence of sound, breath, movement and silence that brings people somewhere quieter than where they started.

The room moves. Thursday nights it’s Ground Lab at Bodha Yoga downtown. Sundays, Sound Lab rotates through partner studios across the city. In the warmer months it’s Park Lab on Mt. Tabor. Private sessions happen in the Attic, Graham’s sound bath studio in SE Portland. For organizations, the room is yours.

Graham’s practice began in 2019 and became Aloka Sound Bath House in 2025. Best Sound Bath Experience: 2025 Winner, 2026 Finalist, Best of Portland Readers’ Poll, Willamette Week.

The Aloka Somatic Sound Method

Most leaders know how to perform. Very few know how to genuinely restore. The Aloka Somatic Sound Ceremony — Aloka meaning light — is a precisely sequenced, multi-modal journey designed to guide your nervous system from chronic activation into deep regulation — and out the other side into renewed clarity and capacity. For those who have hit the wall of burnout, it is proof that there is light on the other side.

Drawing on somatic movement, breath physiology, vibrational acoustics, and intentional silence, each element of the ceremony is chosen for its specific effect on the body and mind. What gets released is what you have been carrying without knowing it. What returns is focus, presence, and a felt sense of being fully resourced. You leave relaxed and reinvigorated — not by chance, but by design.

The practitioners

Aloka is Graham’s practice, and sometimes the room is shared. These are the Portland practitioners who collaborate with Aloka on ceremonies, workshops and special sessions.
